These Regulations concern control of physical development in the Cayman Islands and provide rules relative to development projects and planning. They implement provisions of the Development and Planning Law. Applications for planning permission shall be lodged with the Central Planning Authority. Development shall be in accordance with land uses indicated on the development plan.The Regulations also concern, among other things, the planning and development of land to be dedicated to use for agricultural purposes; the requirements of water resources management in planning; and the protection of the foreshore and mangroves and criteria for development in Mangrove Buffer Zones.
