This regulation enacts the Range Act, and applies to Crown range. It is divided into 13 sections, and deals with applications for a licence, grazing permit or hay cutting permit. Section 3 outlines the procedure for the advertisement of licences and permits, by the district manager, acting under section 10 (2) of the Act. The content of an application for licence or permit is set out in section 4. Reference is made to competition rules in section 5. When the minister decides to offer a licence or a grazing or hay cutting permit for public competition, he must notify every eligible person who has applied before, and mail a copy of the notification to the secretary of the livestock association for the locality where the licence or permit will be exercised. Otherwise the district manager may, without accepting applications from other persons, make a direct award, under section 6. Section 7 outlines agreements for use of private range lands, and sections 8 to 11 deal with various fees. Section 12 deals with Transfers of licences or permits, and finally section 13 lists various range districts.
