This Law regulates the sale of State land available for the purpose of agricultural development. It consists of the following Chapters: Sale of State land (I); Grants and Permits (II); Protection of Land held on Permits or Grants (III); Dispositions (IV); Succession (V); Cancellation of Permits (VI); Regulations (VII); General (VIII).The Government Agent of each administrative district shall from time to time make a report to the Land Commissioner of any State land available for alienation by way of sale for the purpose of agricultural development. The Land Commissioner shall take action on any report and then convey his decision to the Government Agent, who shall decide on any application made after the date prescribed in the notification of sale of State land. The persons to whom land shall be alienated shall be selected from such class of persons as may be prescribed (sect. 6, para. 3), at a price to be determined by the Land Commissioner.Further provisions concern inter alia the issue of grants or permits in favor of the selected persons, the payment of the price of land and any other fee required, the disposition of land by will, the cancellation of permits, legal proceedings.
