This report takes place within the framework of the regional project “Maximize the production of goods and services of Mediterranean forest ecosystems in the context of global changes” (2012-2016) financed by the French Global Environment Facility together with the German Cooperation (GIZ), the French Ministry of Agriculture, Agrifood, and Forestry, and the European Union in 5 countries in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) and the Near East (Lebanon, Turkey). This report aims to present a regional synthesis of the results of the component 2 focused on the evaluation of the economic and social value of goods and services provided by forest ecosystems. This report presents the studies carried out in four pilot sites: the Chréa National Park in Algeria, the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve in Lebanon, the Maâmora Forest in Morocco and the Düzlerçami Forest in Turkey and integrates the results of the economic evaluation of goods and services of the Barbara Watershed in Tunisia, carried out previously. This report presents the methods used to evaluate the different goods and services in the different pilot sites, the results obtained and their analysis, and the lessons learned from these regional economic assessments.
