An Act to regulate contracts of tenancy of small agricultural holdings. "Small holding" means any area of land under cultivation or pasture or intended for cultivation or pasturage, with or without buildings thereon, comprising not less that half an acre or more than ten acres in one or more parcels of land of a landlord (sect. 2). No person shall let any small holding unless a contract of tenancy has been entered into between the parties thereto. The contract shall be in writing in the form as prescribed in the First Schedule.

No person shall occupy or use more than three acres of land for urban farming. No person shall, except where that person practices zero grazing, graze his animal in an urban area (reg. 3). "Urban farming" means the carrying out of plant or animal husbandry activities as set out in the Schedule within statutory township boundaries. Regulation 4 prohibits farming which may cause nuisance in other zones as those destined for urban farming. (4 regulations)

Ce plan comprend parmi d'autres la zone protégée des réserves naturelles du "Baggerweieren" et la zone viticole et agricole. La première est destinée à garantir la protection d'espèces rares de la faune et de la flore et la dernière est destinée à l'exercice de la viticulture et de l'agriculture. En plus, tous les travaux viticoles et agricoles usuels peuvent y être exécutés. Le règlement comprend 17 articles.

These Regulations amend the principal Regulations which provide for payment to eligible persons who, in respect of an area of eligible land, undertake not to use such land for a period of at least twenty years and to manage the land with the objective of establishing an area of salt-marsh in accordance with prescribed management requirements. They amend the rate of payment of aid to beneficiaries in respect of land which was permanent grassland at the start of the management period.

The aid granted under these Regulations aims at the management of land of broadleaved woodland compatible with the requirements of the protection of the environment the beneficiaries of aid shall conclude an agreement with the Secretary of State in which management requirements laid down in the Schedule to these Regulations are included.

These Regulations implement Community legislation on agricultural production methods compatible with the requirements of the protection of the environment and the maintenance of the countryside. The Regulations provide for the payment of aid to eligible persons who in respect of eligible land undertake not to use such land for agricultural production for a period of 20 years and to manage the land in accordance with the requirements set out in the Schedule to the Regulations with the purpose of maintaining, improving or protecting a wildlife habitat.

These Regulations add a new payment rate for aid for set-aside land managed in accordance with the management obligations in the principal Regulations 1994. Now the beneficiary may alter the area of land to be counted as set-aside land during the management period. Requirements concerning information to be included in the application for aid are also amended. The provisions regarding recovery are altered so as to give the Minister power to recover the difference between the old and the new payment rate. (9 regulations)
