The Regulation establishes the modalities of carrying out environmental, agricultural, ecological, economic and erosion-preventive zoning of land. Zoning of land shall be carried out with the consideration of the environmental conditions, agrobiological particulars of agricultural crops, the directions of the agricultural development and ecological safety requirements by study of land and soil, analysis, systematization and generalization of data concerning the state and the particulars of land tenure in separate areas or administrative units.

The purpose of the present Act is to outline the composition, functioning and jurisdiction of the Surface Rights Board. The Board shall: a) make rules of procedure and practice governing hearings, inquiries and proceedings conducted by it, and b) keep records of its hearings, inquiries and proceedings. In conducting a hearing or inquiry, the Board may, inter alia, enter on and inspect, or authorize any person to enter on and inspect, any land, building, works or other property.

The present Act creates a framework for land survey by Alberta government surveyors. The Minister shall designate an official belonging to its staff to acts as the Director of Surveys.

The Regulation consists of 6 Sections dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1); 2) preparatory work (sect. 2); 3) field work (sect. 3); 4) laboratory work (sect. 4); 5) mapping (sect. 5); 6) legalization and issuing of land certificates (sect. 6). The purpose of agrochemical inspection of soil of peasant farms shall have as its purpose obtaining the reliable quantitative, qualitative and land valuation data in order to fill in the State land ownership certificate for hereditary lifelong possession of the plots of land.

This Act makes provision for the public control and organization of the survey of land and for other related matters. The Act consists of 46 sections divided into 10 Parts.As for administration, there shall be a Director of Surveys and such other officers as may be deemed to be necessary for the purposes of this Act. Also a Land Surveyors' Board is established. The Board shall principally appoint and control licensed surveyors. Surveyors, in order to become a licensed surveyor, shall submit to examination and be registered by the Board.

The present Decree establishes rules as to expropriation and concession of the plots of land of all categories irrespectively of the kind of land tenure, lifelong hereditary possession, private ownership or lease. The plots of land shall be allotted in conformity with the project of the appropriate allotment thereof. Legal persons, natural persons and citizens interested in the allotment of the plots of land for agricultural commodity production, farming, and subsidiary small-holding, mowing and grazing must submit an application to the local self-government.

The present Decree establishes the rules governing land consolidations owned by citizens and legal persons irrespective of the nature of tenure and the presence or absence of constructions thereon. The plots of land registered in the state land cadastre can be subject to consolidation or splitting up. The adjoining plots of land not exceeding the established maximum size ceiling, owned by citizens, can be consolidated.

The present Regulation implements various sections of the Surface Rights Act. In particular, it deals with, amongst others, application for right of entry order, land other than Crown land, Crown land, additional approvals and permits, plans to be enclosed to applications, requirements of plans, termination of right of entry order, local distribution system. The Regulation consists of 16 sections and 3 Schedules.

The purpose of the present Act is to ensure the continuation of the Ministry of Natural Resources. The text deals, amongst others, with issues such as powers and duties of Deputy Minister and employees in general, powers of Minister, delegation of powers and duties, establishments of programs, fees, guarantees of loans, establishment of the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission. The text consists of 14 sections.

The present Act ensures the survey of land and the approval of plans. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “application for boundary confirmation”, “cadastral parcel mapping system”, “deteriorated monument”, “former land registration district”, “land surveys directory”, “land titles registry”, “lost monument”, “parcel”, “primary survey”, “registered owner”, “re-establishment”, “Registrar of Titles”, etc. Section 4 establishes the Land Surveys Directory.
