Knowledge of hydrologic connectivity is important to grasp the hydrological response at a basin scale, particularly as changes in connectivity can have a negative effect on the environment. In the context of a changing climate, being able to predict how changes in connectivity will affect runoff and sediment transport is particularly relevant for land-use planning. Many studies on hydrology, geomorphology and climatology have been conducted in the Lake Tana Basin in Ethiopia, which is undergoing rapid development and significant environmental changes.

Since urban areas with high air pollution are known to have higher mortality rates compared to areas with less air pollution, accurately understanding and predicting the distribution of particulate matter (PM) in cities is important for urban planning policies that seek to emphasize the health of citizens. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between PM and land use in metropolitan cities in South Korea using the land-use regression model. We use daily data from the air quality monitoring stations (AQMS) in seven cities in South Korea for the year 2018.

How Does Land Tenure Security Affect Farm Succession? Evidence from Apple Growers in China

The security of farmland property rights is an important factor that affects farmland investment and succession, and farm succession is highly significant for achieving sustainable agricultural development. In this study, based on survey data obtained from 1012 apple growers in Shandong and Shaanxi Provinces, we analyzed the impact of land tenure security on the farm succession willingness of farmers and related paths by constructing binary logistic regression and mediating effect models.

The relationship between land-use types and water quality in these rivers provides important information for effectively addressing urban river restoration and pollution management. However, not much attention has been paid on these small- and medium-sized rivers, especially in large urban agglomerations with dense river networks.

Impact of Farmland Rental Contract Disputes on Farmland Rental Market Participation

In the context of an ambiguous structure of farmland property rights, farmland rental contract disputes exhibited an upward tendency over the past decade, in practice, which damaged the expectations of land tenure security and, consequently, influenced the willingness of people to participate in farmland rental markets. Thus, the main aim of this paper was to analyze the impact of farmland rental contract disputes on farmland rental market participation, which was empirically tested by using a logit model, IV-probit model, and survey data for 762 apple growers.
