The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate agreements and debate policy. FAO is also a source of knowledge and information. We help developing countries and countries in transition modernize and improve agriculture, forestry and fisheries practices and ensure good nutrition for all. Since our founding in 1945, we have focused special attention on developing rural areas, home to 70 percent of the world's poor and hungry people.

Opening poster for treehousing international wood design competition
This poster is the opening poster for the TREEHOUSING International Wood Design Competition that was run by FAO and DBR | Design Build Research School on the occasion of the XIV World Forestry Congress in Durban, South Africa, in September 2015.The competition challenged architecture students, professional architects and designers to develop innovative and sustainable wood housing and urban building solutions.
Required Input for Simulations with AquaCrop
This document describes the input required for simulations with AquaCrop. AquaCrop uses a relative small number of explicit parameters and largely intuitive input variables. Those are either widely available or require just simple methods for their determination. Input consists of weather data, crop and soil characteristics, and management practices that define the environment in which the crop will develop.

Le site pilote retenu est celui du bassin versant de Siliana (figure 1.1). Le gouvernorat auquel il appartient, et dont il porte le nom, s’étend sur une surface totale de 464 200 ha. Ce gouvernorat est situé dans la partie sud-est de la région nord-ouest de la Tunisie qui englobe les quatre gouvernorats du Kef, Jendouba, Siliana et Béja.
