The Nagaland Village and Area Councils Act, 1978

To consolidate and amend the law relating to constitution of Viliage and Area Councils in Nagaland and to regulate their duties and functions and for  matters connected there with.

It is hereby enacted in the twenty-ninth year of the Rcpublic of lndia as foliows :
Short Title, extent and colnmencement
 (1) The Act may be called the Nagatnd Village and Area Councils Act, 1978.
(2) It means for whole of Nagaland.
(3) It shall comc into force on such date as thc State Government may by notiification in tbe Gazette, appoint,and diferent dates may be appointed For different provisions of this Act
