The aim of this Law is to recognize ownership rights and to return to ex-proprietors or their heirs properties which were nationalized, expropriated or confiscated, as well as to determine methods and amounts for returning or compensating for lost properties or other rights. This Law does not apply to land regulated by the Land Law. The term 'land' used in this Law includes agricultural land as defined in article 3. Ownership shall be restored except in the cases as provided for in article 4. Owners who were compensated to the full at the time of expropriation shall not be entitled to compensation as provided for in article 5 (art. 6). Articles 7 to 23 provide for the restitution of property, compensation and the relationship between tenants and ex-owners.Article 22 assigns to institutions responsible for property registration the duty of recognition of property ownership. The Law consists of 30 articles.
