Jenna manages the Strategic Communications Program for RRI. She comes to the Rights and Resources Initiative from a consultancy at the U.S. Navy where she served as a Congressional & Public Affairs Coordinator. Prior to her time in the private sector, Jenna was a Fellow at the Alliance for Justice, a national alliance of human rights and civil liberties based nonprofits, where she managed the Alliance’s extensive online outreach and communications efforts. Additionally, Jenna has work experience in event coordination and income development. Jenna has and MA in International Affairs and Human Rights from the George Washington University’s Elliott School on International Affairs and a BA from Bucknell University. Prior to moving to Washington, D.C, she spent a year in Europe studying the efficiency and effectiveness of the world’s premier International Organizations.

Secure, legally-recognized land and forest rights for Indigenous Peoples and local communities are vital to mitigating climate change, securing sustainable development, preventing conflict, and reducing poverty. It is also a core human right for up to 2.5 billion people who customarily hold and use land around the world.
