Empirical investigation of the impact of institutional and socioeconomic factors on agricultural productivity and natural resource conditions is important for an informed evaluation of current policies, and to identify areas for future improvements. In this line, the current study addresses three topics of relevance to the process of agricultural intensification and natural resource management in the context of the less-favoured Highlands of Tigray, Ethiopia.

Van impasse naar inpassen : inpassen van de recreatielandjes langs het Veluwemeer
Hoe we de inrichting en het beheer van onze landjes natuurvriendelijker kunnen maken, hoe we de stilte die de vogels nodig hebben minder verstoren. Die vraag speelde bij NatuurVereniging Eigenaren Oude Land, eigenaren van de recreatielandjes in het Veluwemeer tussen Nunspeet en Elburg. Ze houden van het gebied, willen er blijvend natuurkamperen. En werken dan ook graag mee aan het verbeteren van de natuurwaarden in dit gebied, maar wel met de landeigenaren erbij
Verrommeling in Nederland
In dit rapport wordt een begripsdefinitie en een operationele definitie gegeven van `verrommeling¿. In de 72 1 x 1 km grids, die ook in de Steekproef Landschap worden gebruikt, is een oordeel gegeven aan de mate van verrommeling. Dit is gerelateerd aan het vóórkomen van storende elementen, de uitstraling ervan en aan landschapskenmerken zoals de afwisseling in gebruiksfuncties. Driekwart van de variantie in verrommelingsscore blijkt uit deze bepalende factoren te kunnen worden verklaard.
