Dr Samantha Lacey is Manager, Environmental and Social Responsibility at CDC Group, with a focus on land. She has a long history of working on agribusiness and land issues, including sitting on the Board of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil, helping to establish smallholder tea co-operatives in Kenya and sitting on the E&S board subcommittees of some of CDC’s agricultural investments. Prior to working at CDC, Samantha worked at the Co-operative College, working with agricultural co-operatives in Africa and prior to that, at Co-operative Asset Management in their Responsible Investment team where she undertook significant engagement with investees on palm oil and biofuels issues.
Samantha has a BA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and a PhD in Microbiology from Imperial College London.
