This Law prescribes various rules and provisions aimed to regulate the incentives for demographic renewal, economic growth, safe and sustainable development, and to create all necessary conditions for solving social conditions and raise living standards of inhabitants in highland areas on the territory of the Croatian Republic.Hilly and mountainous areas are defined as areas of great interest and put under special protection of the Croatian government. The provisions of this Law are further providing concession and land use rules, financial and technical standards aimed to raise the level of environmental protection of natural resources and living space for people and all living beings in all hilly and mountainous areas.
