Petroleum-contaminated soils price regulation for aids of land use optimization and ecological risk mitigation

Conference Papers & Reports
Décembre, 2016
Russia
Latvia

The widespread practice involves remediation of petroleum-contaminated soils by an intense usage of microbiological remedies. However, this approach lacks the study of consequences for the soil fertility and other environmental factors. According to our laboratory and field studies, the petroleum-contaminated high-grade soils under certain conditions can be effectively remediated with the increase in fertility and decrease in toxicity. We propose the modification to the land price regulation practice, which will promote the usage of such advantageous remediation techniques, when required.

Possibilities of application of orthophoto maps in determination of land degradation

Conference Papers & Reports
Décembre, 2016
Latvia

Aim of the paper is to explore the possibilities of application of orthophoto maps in determination of land degradation. One of the forms of remote sensing is aerial photography. Orthophoto maps are made from aerial photography with specialized software orthophoto maps were analysed in perspective for several years – from 2005 to 2011.The results are based on the expert. With each year possibilities of application of orthophoto maps are expanding. During the research, data of survey and SWOT analysis of determination of land degradation by orthophoto maps.

Analysis of purposes of use of real property in municipalities of Latvia

Conference Papers & Reports
Décembre, 2016
Latvia

One of the cornerstones of sustainable use of land resources is the use of land resources for the identified needs. In every country it is needed to list the land according to the type of land use. Such function of land classification in Latvia is maintained by the classification of purpose of real property use. In a certain period of time needs of the specific purposes for which the land resources are used are changing, so the aim of this study is to research changes of areas of purpose of real property use in municipalities of Latvia.

The use of arable land for production of green and preserved fodder in Northern Kazakhstan

Conference Papers & Reports
Décembre, 2016
Kazakhstan
Latvia

The cultivation of unconventional feed crops in the North of Kazakhstan allows to use tillage efficiently for the long period for the production of green and preserved balanced fodder. As a green manure after plowing culture to raise the low fertility of the arable land. The aim is a long cultivation of unconventional fodder cultures for profitable and double-cutting production of green and juiced fodder. The tasks are: 1. to estimate the quality of the first cutting by the yield, food-value, economical efficiency; 2.

Identification of areas with unfavourable agriculture development conditions in terms of shape and size of parcels with example of southern Poland

Conference Papers & Reports

Poland
Latvia
Europe

Modern agriculture development possibilities are highly dependent on many factors, including those which are related to the parameters of land spatial structure (including parcels fragmentation and parameters related to their shape). In particular, unfavourable shape of parcels in combination with their small sizes is the most common reason for non-profitability of agricultural production. It is one of the major causes of land abandonment. South Poland is the area of high diversification in terms of the landform, soil quality and spatial structure parameters.
