The present paper – the third in the HIV/AIDS Programme Working Paper Series – is based on field research conducted by two grassroots organizations – CINDI-Kitwe in Zambia and GROOTS Kenya in Kenya to map out and document cases of property grabbing from children, in particular those who became orphans due to AIDS. It is intended to explore methods which grassroots organizations use or can use to document their work.

Cette publication fournit un survol des principaux enjeux débattus lors de l’élaboration et de l’adoption de la Loi sur la sécurité alimentaire nationale de l’Inde (2013) qui contraint légalement les gouvernements nationaux et étatiques à étendre la protection sociale à la population du pays. Cela soulève plusieurs débats pertinents et dynamiques qui peuvent être utiles pour les décideurs politiques et les défenseurs, particulièrement dans les pays à faible revenue, mais également dans les économies émergentes souhaitant consolider leurs cadres programmatiques et légaux.

Land tenure working paper 5. This paper explores trends of good governance of tenure of land and other natural resources in Latin America. It analyzes mechanisms employed and identifies issues to be considered when aiming for responsible governance of tenure of land.

En el presente documento se examinan diversos casos de proyectos en que se aplicaron enfoques o principios basados en los modos de vida sostenibles y que, como consecuencia de ello, surtieron un efecto concreto en la reducción de la pobreza. Puesto que no se trata de un estudio comparativo entre éste y otros tipos de enfoques, no se han tomado en consideración casos de planteamientos más “tradicionales”.

Después de cuatro años desde que el Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria Mundial aprobara las Directrices voluntarias como consenso mundial para mejorar la tenencia, sus principios y procesos están inspirando a personas de todo el mundo a ponerse en acción. Suscitando gran aceptación por parte de los gobiernos, la sociedad civil y el sector privado, representan un marco insesgado en el que actualmente se mantienen nuevos diálogos sobre tenencia, se desarrollan nuovas competencias y se influencian nuevas políticas de modo participativo.

Les femmes participent de manière considérable à l’économie rurale dans toutes les régions en développement. Si les rôles qu’elles assument sont différents selon les régions, on observe toutefois partout qu’elles ont un accès plus restreint que les hommes aux ressources et aux débouchés qui leur permettraient d’être plus productives.

Quatre ans après l’approbation des Directives volontaires par le Comité sur la sécurité alimentaire mondiale en tant que consensus global pour l’amélioration des régimes fonciers, ses principes et processus continuent à être des sources d’inspirations pour agir. This guide explores the legal dimensions of responsible governance of tenure. It supports the application of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure for Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security at the national level. The guide addresses the legal value of the Guidelines covering the governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forests by explaining the concept of legitimacy and reviewing the different stages of legislative processes, from legal assessment and law-making through implementation of legislation to settlement of disputes.
