The League for Pastoral Peoples was founded in 1992 to provide relief in an acute crisis experienced by Raika camel pastoralists in India. Its initial mandate was to support pastoral societies and other small-scale livestock keepers to pursue their own vision of development through research, technical support, advisory services and advocacy.

Objectif du projet  : L’objectif de développement (ODP) est «d'améliorer l’accès à des moyens et services de production essentiels et aux marchés pour les pasteurs et agropasteurs dans des zones transfrontalières sélectionnées et le long des axes de transhumance dans les six pays du Sahel, et d’améliorer la capacité de ces pays à répondre à temps et de façon efficace en cas de crises pastorales ou d’urgences ».

The Rangelands Initiative of the International Land Coalition (ILC) is a global programme facilitating learning between and providing technical support to different actors who are working to make rangelands more tenure secure.

HEKS champions the cause of a more humane and just world and a life in dignity. Internationally, HEKS/EPER focuses on rural community development, humanitarian aid and inter-church cooperation.

With contributions from writers of all disciplines, the journal examines the world though academic enquiry as well as history, philosophy and anthropology. The journal is part of a collective effort to find new representations of rural life.
