In view of the lack of human resources with specific competencies in customary land rights, within the past two decades FAO and various non-governmental organizations have developed materials and methodologies for the dissemination of the Land Law and the participatory delimitation of rural communities. Materials and methodologies were developed based on practical experience of several land projects implemented over a period of approximately 20 years. Within the present project, World Vision Angola has carried out an exhaustive work to review these materials and methodologies, including and systematizing the knowledge acquired during the delimitation of more than 100 rural communities in the Provinces of Bié and Huambo. The review process was comprehensive, as several workshops were held at the provincial level, with the participation of FAO, national and international organizations representative, practitioners and national specialists. The international expert Sevy Madureira and the national expert Paulo Filipe led the revision process, which took more than one year. The result was the adoption of a revised material, mainly two key instruments: the Cartilha sobre a Lei de Terras, and the Manual para a Delimitaçao Participativa de Terras Comunitarias em Angola.
