El caso aborda la historia de tres mujeres que ante el deceso de sus cónyuges, pierden la garantía para validar sus derechos sobre las posesiones de tierra. La lucha por sus tierras se hizo desde el liderazgo, la toma del control de sus tierras o por acuerdos familiares. Estas estrategias les han permitido garantizar su acceso a la tierra, su empoderamiento y reconocimiento dentro de la comunidad.
Este es el caso de una propiedad familiar donde la necesidad del retorno a la tierra familiar impulsada por el peligro de pérdida del terreno ante la muerte del progenitor (propietario), y la mejora en las condiciones de vida que en este caso están expresadas en prácticas innovadoras, frente a los términos en los que el mercado convencional se desarrolla.
Es el caso de Jhon Rios, que habiendo dejado la vida rural, decide volver a su tradición familiar campesina, heredandop unas tierras de su padre e impulsando un proyecto productivo de agricultura orgánica.

The Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), with support from the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), performed the Ghana Land Tenure Baseline Survey, the first of its kind survey of tenure rights among cocoa farmers in Ghana. CRIG surveyed almost 1,800 cocoa farmers operating 3,900 cocoa plots regarding various land tenure issues within customary sharecropping arrangements and on owner-managed land. The High Court shall have jurisdiction in all matters relating to probate and the administration of deceased's estates, with power to grant probates of wills and letters of administration to the estates of deceased persons and to alter or revoke such grants.
This Regulation sets forth the principles and procedures regarding the transfer of agricultural land, the procedures of succession, inheritance and valuation. It also sets out provisions on the acreage and economic integrity of adequate income agricultural lands. The Regulation further determines the features of the eligible heir.
