Academic says new Fiji constitution includes land rights safeguards
Dr Sitiveni Ratuva of Auckland University’s Centre for Pacific Studies says several elements were retained from the Constitutional Commission whose draft the regime dumped half a year ago.
He spoke to Radio New Zealand International in an interview, saying much of the Bill of Rights provisions were “replicas of the Yash Ghai constitution” that was rejected by the regime.
