Annette Jaitner is an advisor in giz’s sector programme on anti-corruption and integrity. She is passionate about land governance, social inclusion, innovation and development. Annette served on the Land Portal Foundation’s Board of Directors from March 2017 to August 2019. Before joining giz in September 2019, Annette had worked with Transparency International in different roles for ten years, among others leading the development of TI’s thematic area on engaging partners and people in counteracting land corruption. Prior to that, she worked with various civil society and UN organisations in Africa for over ten years, mainly on participatory approaches to socio-economic development and civil society capacity building. Annette holds degrees in Agricultural Economics, Humanitarian Assistance, and Environmental Management from the Universities of Giessen and Bochum in Germany, and the University of London, Wye College.
