Community Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation (CEPA) was founded in 2010 as a community-based organization (CBO); in 2012, it was transformed into a local NGO. The organization has its head office in Kailahun district, Eastern Province, where it is fully registered with Kailahun district Council, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs (MSWGCA). CEPA’s main areas of interventions are: land governance, responsible agricultural investment and human’s and peoples’ rights to reliable sources for a sustainable livelihood. Between 2013 and 2016, CEPA has worked with IFAD on IVS rehabilitation and with GIZ on cocoa and coffee rehabilitation in Kailahun district. The organization is a member of the ALLAT network.
