Dominique is a visiting PhD candidate from the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. Her thesis focuses on the social effects of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in the Global South with a special emphasis on agriculture, forestry and other land-use projects (AFOLU). Currently she works on an impact evaluation of AFOLU projects on social conflict based on geospatial data.
Dominique holds a BA in Business and Management from Oxford Brookes University and an MA in International Relations from the Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI). Previously, she worked for almost ten years in various corporate functions and more recently as a research and teaching assistant at IBEI. She also worked as a sustainability project manager for a local development organisation in Tanzania.

In the second PhD session of the LANDac Conference 2021, three PhD researchers presented their work in progress. We learned about slums in Abuja, Nigeria, about forest rights in India, and about the relation between inequalities in soil fertility, gender, and access to subsidies.
