Nicaragua es un país situado en el istmo de América Central que limita con Honduras al norte y Costa Rica al sur, al este con el océano Atlántico y al oeste con el océano Pacífico. En 2019 el país tenía una población total de 6.486.201 habitantes y un PIB (Producto Interno Bruto) per cápita de 5.683 dólares. Es uno de los países más pobres de América. El sector agrícola ha sido tradicionalmente el principal sustento de la economía del país.
