Even before a Cambodian judge sentenced land rights activist Tep Vanny to jail, her fellow campaigners said her fate had already been sealed.

Cada día, más mujeres y hombres, usuarios familiares y comunitarios de tierras y recursos naturales, son precarizados, despojados de sus recursos y expulsados de sus territorios: campesinas y campesinos, pastores nómadas, ganaderos, pescadores, habitantes de los bosques… (Talleres 1, 2, 3, 5). Esta evolución es dramática para el conjunto de la humanidad: sus consecuencias directas afectan a la inmensa mayoría de campesinos, que representan el grueso de la producción de alimentos y contribuyen al mantenimiento del equilibrio ecológico.

WORKSHOP 13: STRENGTHENING RURAL, PASTORAL, INDIGENOUS, AND FISHING ORGANISATIONS. BROADENING ALLIANCES ACROSS SOCIETY

Every day, more and more family/small holder users of land and natural resources find themselves made more insecure, deprived of their resources and evicted from their land. This affects peasants, nomadic herders, livestock farmers, fishermen and fisherwomen, forest dwellers … (Workshops 1, 2, 3, 5). This change is a dramatic one, affecting the whole of humanity. The direct human consequences of this change affect the vast majority of rural residents, who carry out the essential work of food production and contribute to maintaining ecological balance.

La Asociación Campesina San Isidro del Jejuí está conformada por miembros de Federación Nacional de las Ligas Agrarias Cristianas, organización conformada por campesinos y campesinas en el Paraguay entre los años 1969 y 1974, que construyó un modelo de comunidad autosustentable con el sistema de tenencia asociativa de la tierra y de producción comunitaria en la denominada Colonia Jejuí.

This video documents the struggle of sugarcane farmers of Valencia, Bukidnon, Philippines in claiming their rights to the land they have long been cultivating. It tells how farmers were harassed by the former landowner who, despite notice of redistribution under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), wanted to hold on to the land and continued to force evict them.
