One of the unique aspects of the National Land Reform Agenda currently being pursued by the Central Government of India (viz Ministries of Rural Development and Tribal Affairs) is the right to land for shelter. This evolved as a part of what is being seen as a second round of land reforms in India yet-to-be realized in the coming years.

The Jan Samwad Yatra today reached Theni District in Tamil Nadul The Yatra group had discussions with two seperate tribal groups to understand the land entitlements processing existing in Tamil Nadu. Surprisingly it seems as the implementation of the Forest Rights Act is yet to start here (atleast for the groups, the yatra interacted with).
