The Soviet Union Destruction led to disruption/problems in Land Tenure issues within its huge territory and not only as Soviet Union had great impact also on the surrounding states and they had similar systems of land tenure. Particularly, most “kolkhozes” and “sovkhozes” were distributed among the villages who hold small areas of land which furthermore, cannot be utilized for mechanized agriculture.

Securing land property rights and implementing effective land tenure reforms that will stipulate increased production and economic growth in the country and the whole region, cannot be carried out without relevant state’s intervention. EastAgri provides appropriate information on its member countries’ Land Tenure and Land Reform issues that can be useful for several interested organizations.

Good land governance encourages people to create more wealth in the rural areas which has a positive effect on the total poverty level.
