Le panel de la société civile (panel OSC) de la Convention des Nations Unies sur la lutte contre la désertification (CNULCD) vient de lancer un site internet destiné à améliorer la lutte contre la désertification et, par conséquent, renforcer la gouvernance responsable du foncier. C’est ce que rapporte Médiaterre.

« Le site Internet servira à partager des informations, des expériences et des connaissances. L'objectif de développement durable 15 ‘’ Vie terrestre’’ engage les dirigeants du monde à travailler ensemble pour parvenir à la neutralité en matière de dégradation des terres (NDT), afin de sauvegarder la vie sur terre. L'un des objectifs de la NDT est de renforcer la gouvernance responsable du régime foncier. Les droits fonciers sont un facteur clé pour atteindre la NDT », précise le site d’information.

Le panel a, sur cette problématique, publié récemment un rapport, « Land Rights for Sustainable Life on Land » (Droits fonciers pour une vie durable sur terre) dont l’objectif est d’ « analyser et mettre en évidence les liens entre les droits fonciers et la dégradation des terres, dans le but d'offrir des recommandations politiques pour améliorer les droits fonciers. Cela devrait permettre la prévention de la dégradation des terres et la récupération des terres dégradées ».
