BRUXELAS NOTIFICA OFICIALMENTE 5 ESTADOS MEMBROS SOBRE O REGIME DE TRANSMISSÃO DA PROPRIEDADE

A Comissão Europeia notificou oficialmente a Bulgária, a Hungria, a Letónia, a Lituânia e a Eslováquia, exigindo que modifiquem o mais rápido possível a sua legislação sobre a transmissão da propriedade agrícola.

Bruxelas considera que os regimes em vigor naqueles países ferem a livre circulação de capitais e a liberdade da aquisição de terrenos.

Estas medidas têm vindo a ser justificadas por estes países para evitar movimentos especulativos, que levem a que os terrenos agrícolas passem da posse dos agricultores locais para as grandes multinacionais.

A Comissão aceita este argumento, mas quer que as medidas tomadas não venham a afectar os restantes cidadãos europeus.

Nas cartas enviadas a estes Estados Membros é dado um prazo de dois meses para adaptarem a sua legislação ao direito comunitário. Passado este período e se nada for feito, então a Comissão deverá apresentar uma queixa no Tribunal Europeu.
