Le Niger veut se doter d’un projet de loi contre l’accaparement des terres d’ici trois mois | Land Portal

 


Au Niger, la campagne «Sauvons les terres pastorales» donne déjà ses premiers résultats. Suite à l’initiative qui avait été lancée il y a un peu plus d’un mois, le gouvernement nigérien vient d’annoncer la création d’un comité qui se penchera sur la question de l’accaparement des terres arables.


Ce comité qui est composé de 19 membres doit soumettre un projet de loi à l’exécutif nigérien d’ici le mois de juin. Le texte permettra de «pallier les insuffisances et les lacunes qui sont souvent la cause de conflits meurtriers entre agriculteurs et éleveurs.» indique l’APA.


L’initiative du gouvernement de Brigi Rafini intervient alors que l’accaparement des terres arables est l’un des maux majeurs qui minent le développement agricole du Sahel.


Selon les experts, cette région du monde pourrait ne plus disposer de superficies agricoles d’ici 40 ans, si la dynamique actuelle se maintenait.
