Uttaran (www.uttaran.net) is a local organisation (Bangladesh) working with vulnerable landowners i.e. women, widow, indigenous, minority and landless people to promote access to land. Uttaran is implementing a project titled, Sustainable Access to Land Equality-SALE' with support of European Union. SALE is the civil society component of overall access to land project that is lead by Department of Land Records and Surveys (DLRS) and Ministry of Land in Bangladesh. SALE partners are taking the main responsibility of the public awareness of vulnerable land owners, capacity support to make the vulnerable land owners sensitive land administration, to pilot transparent landless people selection and state land settlement to landless people. In addition, SALE will document the good practices, learning and challenges of land survey and settlement.


Uttaran is working with all land owners for educating them on land survey and settlement. Most the land owners are illiterate. Show of documentary in meeting and gathering will help to educate them easily. By the way of the implementation, Uttaran with help of settlement offices has developed number of new methods. So all land owners require knowing about new methods as well as adapted new technologies without fear.
