Commercial Pressures on Land

Accumulation by Land Dispossession and Labour Devaluation in Tanzania
Documents
“This report - produced by Haki Ardhi, a land rights NGO in Tanzania - is of two case studies of land grabbing based on field research carried out by the authors, Chambi Chachage and Bernard Baha. The cases involve British company, New Forest, and the Dutch and Belgian Company, BioShape. Of interest is that the companies have on the face of it followed the correct procedures for land acquisition, but the way the procedures were used and the outcomes have still resulted in negative impacts for the local communities and their land and food rights.
