    Bien que l’impôt foncier constitue une source majeure de revenus pour les administrations infranationales, il reste l’un des plus sous-performant dans les pays à faible revenu. Ce n’est qu’un exemple de la façon dont, dans de nombreux pays, les efforts des gouvernements infranationaux en matière de collecte de revenus sont souvent inefficaces, inéquitables et en manque de redevabilité, en particulier en ce qui concerne l’impôt foncier. Les résultats qui en découlent menacent la capacité des pays à répondre aux besoins et priorités urgents en matière de dépenses.

    Measuring gender inequality in land ownership is essential for assessing progress in women’s economic empowerment, tracing the impact of progressive laws on actual practice, and monitoring SDG 5 on gender equality. To effectively assess inter-gender (male-female) gaps in land ownership, however, requires multiple measures. We also need to know which women are more likely to own land by tracing intra-gender differences. To date, no study on India has provided a full range of measures on inter-gender inequality in land ownership or focused on intra-gender variations.

    The digital land tax system was chosen for category seven in the contest, named ‘ICT applications: benefits in all aspects of life - E-government’.

    Dhaka — Bangladesh’s Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has inaugurated an online hearing system of the Land Revenue Court in the conference room of the land ministry on Wednesday.
