The present Code is made under the Environmental Management Act and the Waste Discharge Regulation. In particular, the Code provides for the protection of land and water. Section 2 establishes that this Code applies to a person who conducts a wood processing industry and who operates, or proposes to operate, a landfill facility solely for the disposal of waste incidental to the wood processing operations. The text consists of 22 sections divided into 5 Parts as follows: Definitions and applications (1); Registration for exemption under the Waste Discharge Regulation (2); Sitting requirements (3); Operational and other requirements for all landfill facilities (4); Additional requirements for large landfill facilities (5).
